Key Responsibilities:
- Assist multiple classrooms on an as-needed basis.
- Assist Lead Classroom Teacher with completing homework sheets for each child to facilitate parental communication.
- Help children with homework and activities.
- Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games and crafts.
- Support the Lead Teacher in keeping the classrooms orderly, with supplies available and ready for activities.
- Organize and store toys and materials to maintain a neat classroom environment.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including:
- Cleaning tables
- Dusting shelves
- Keeping desks clean and organized
- Mopping the classroom weekly
- Cleaning and mopping bathrooms and kitchen on assigned days
- Support children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
- Maintain accountability by caring for personal belongings (books, bags, jackets).
- Assist the Lead Classroom Teacher with weekly and monthly assignments.
- Observe students daily during recess.
Shift:
2:30 pm - 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred) or related field with child development coursework.
- CPR Certification (preferred).
- Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in Early Childhood Education.
- Skills and knowledge typical for early childhood professionals.
- Flexible with scheduled work hours to meet center needs.
- Ability to work well with management.
- Passion for working with children.
- Ability to lift at least 35 lbs.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
