Job summary

Old City Academy in Saint Augustine, FL, seeks an educator to create a safe, engaging classroom where children grow, learn, and build confidence daily. Through curriculum implementation, positive guidance, and strong partnerships with families and your team, you’ll deliver a consistent, high-quality early learning experience.

The ideal candidate has a passion for working with young children, strong communication with families, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of state licensing requirements and classroom safety.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or required where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment and maintain safety ratios.
  • Lead activities that support children’s learning and development.
  • Provide active supervision and guide behavior through positive reinforcement.
  • Support daily routines, including meals, naps, and transitions.
  • Observe, document, and share student progress with families.
  • Collaborate with team to deliver consistent, high-quality classroom experiences.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)required. Degree in Early Childhood Education ora relatedfield preferred.


  • Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience in a preschool or early childhood setting preferred.


  • Knowledge of state licensing requirements and classroom compliance expectations.


  • Must meet all state-specific education, certification (including CPR/First Aid, whererequired), licensing, and regulatory requirements, including the ability to pass a background check and complete ongoing professional development.


  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills, with the ability to build andmaintainpositive relationships with children, families, and team members.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age
