Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assist the pharmacy manager in controlling inventories by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
  2. Weigh, measure, mix drugs and other medical compounds, fill bottles with correct quantities, and provide advice to self-medicating patients. Dispense non-prescription medications and communicate with health and insurance professionals.
  3. Perform patient immunizations regularly.
  4. In the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, schedule pharmacy associates, recognize and discipline staff as needed, and assign work to utilize skills effectively while meeting profit objectives.
  5. Support ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance, reduce turnover, and control labor costs.
  6. Monitor and improve department operations to control expenses, meet labor goals, and reduce losses due to shrinkage.
  7. Respond to customer inquiries courteously, provide counseling on prescription issues, and collaborate with the pharmacy manager to improve customer service.
  8. Maintain a safe and clean department environment in compliance with health, OSHA, and company standards.
  9. Keep accurate records and files related to department activities, including associate performance and sales reports.
  10. Ensure smooth department and store operations through cooperation with team members and supervisors. Strive to improve job performance continuously.
  11. Perform any additional duties of staff as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD
  • State Pharmacist License
