The Floater Paramedic provides professional medical and occupational health services to XstremeMD clients in remote and industrial environments. This position provides patient assessment, treatment, emergency response, follow-up care, and occupational health services while utilizing onsite resources and telemedicine support.The Floater Paramedic is expected to work independently, maintain a high standard of patient care and confidentiality, and give appropriate consideration to health, safety, environment, cost, and people in daily operations.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide onsite healthcare and emergency medical services utilizing telemedicine and XMD physician support.Assess, treat, monitor, and follow up with patients; assist with stabilization and evacuation when necessary.Assist physicians and case managers with patient care and coordination.Perform physical examinations and biometric testing as requested.Perform DOT and Non-DOT urine drug collections and breath alcohol testing (BAT).Perform occupational testing, including audiometry, pulmonary function testing (PFT), and respiratory fit testing.Maintain accurate and timely patient records, encounter logs, and required documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).Assist clients with Medical Emergency Response Plans (MERPs).Maintain competency with telemedicine, laboratory, diagnostic, and emergency medical equipment.Maintain medications, supplies, equipment, and required inventories/audits.Maintain the clinic and workspace in a clean, organized, and operational condition.Participate in safety meetings, required training, and equipment inspections.Follow XMD, client, OSHA, and other applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Maintain patient confidentiality and professional relationships with patients, client representatives, XMD staff, and crew members.Perform offsite client testing or education when requested.Perform other duties as assigned.Schedule/Compensation & BenefitsSchedule: 14 Days On / 14 Days OffHours: Approximately 84 hours per week while on rotation (40 regular hours + 44 overtime hours)Pay: $25.00 per hour.Travel: Company-paid travel and lodging; meal per diem providedBenefits and assigned support include:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off (PTO)Paid holidaysCompany-paid travel to and from assigned locationsCompany-paid lodging while on assignmentMeal per diem while on assignmentAdditional employee benefitsMinimum 1 year of industrial medical experience in a remote medical environment, required.Minimum 3 years of ambulance or emergency room medical experience, preferred.Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety, and HSEQ practices.Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a healthcare team.Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups and handle sensitive situations appropriately.Good safety record and commitment to safe work practices.Completion of continuing education necessary to maintain competency in remote and industrial medicine.Required CertificationsAdvanced Remote Emergency Medical Management (AREMM)BLSACLSNREMT and/or applicable State Paramedic CertificationPFT and COHC (Audiometry) CertificationsUDS and BAT CertificationsTWIC Card, when required by client locationAdditional training or certifications as required by XMD or the clientSchedule & Working ConditionsThis is a floater position requiring flexibility in assignment and work location. The standard rotation is 14 days on / 14 days off, with approximately 84 hours per week while on rotation, including 40 regular hours and 44 overtime hours per week.Assignments may require extensive travel and working away from home for two weeks or more at a time. XstremeMD covers required travel and lodging associated with assignments and provides a per diem for meals.Employees may be required to work after-hours calls, additional shifts, weekends, and holidays based on XMD or client needs.Work is performed in remote and industrial environments where additional medical personnel or definitive medical care may be delayed. Employees may work indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, wind, dust, rain, uneven terrain, and other conditions typical of client locations and must be able to perform required duties while wearing appropriate PPE.Physical RequirementsThe Floater Paramedic must be physically capable of performing emergency medical and patient-care duties, including:Standing and walking for prolonged periods, including over uneven or unimproved terrain.Responding promptly to emergencies while transporting medical equipment.Lifting and carrying medical equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. for approximately 50 feet.Pushing or pulling equipment requiring up to approximately 75 lbs. of force.Assisting with patient movement, repositioning, transfers, and evacuation.Performing CPR and emergency interventions at floor or ground level for sustained periods.Repeatedly bending, reaching, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crouching.Entering and exiting emergency response vehicles, trucks, ambulances, clinics, and industrial facilities.Climbing stairs, steps, ramps, ladders, or platform access when required.Maintaining sufficient mobility and stamina to respond to emergencies throughout extended or rotational shifts.Possessing sufficient visual and auditory acuity to assess patients and perform required occupational health testing.XstremeMD Floater Paramedics are expected to provide compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable medical care while maintaining high standards of safety, documentation, regulatory compliance, and client service.
