Zekelman Industries’ Atlas Tube division is seeking a Floater Assistant Operator for the Chicago, IL facility. You will operate the mill equipment including coil crane, butt welder, cutoff saw, and more, while maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or trade certification preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills; familiarity with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Crane certification is required; emphasize safe work practices and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines safely and follow company safety policies.
• Troubleshoot and communicate problems to mill crew.
• Ensure quality requirements are met and communicate them to crew.
• Maintain offline requirements for quick-change operation and assist in equipment repairs.
