Family Health Medical Services, PLLC in Jamestown, NY is seeking a caring Medical Assistant to support our providers by taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and helping maintain a clean, organized clinical environment for a smooth patient experience.

The Rooming Medical Assistant will float between tasks, perform blood draws, and ensure HIPAA compliance while prioritizing patient comfort and safety in a primary care setting.

Qualifications

• At least six months experience in related field preferred.
• Medent EMR experience preferred.
• CPR Certification required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and perform medication reconciliation during rooming process in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist providers in performing various medical procedures.
• Perform blood draws.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Create orders using Disease Management and Health Maintenance as an age-based tool to assist with incentive measures.
• Work in messaging and document tanks to return patient calls with knowledge of provider scheduling.
• Maintain a clean environment set forth by OSHA guidelines.
• Uphold strict HIPAA standards when speaking to patients and faxing patient information.
• Maintain current HIPAA training on an annual basis.
• Participate in team meetings to maintain processes and stay alert to pertinent changes.
• Report patient related needs to provider.
• May assist in other departments as needed.
• Any additional duties as assigned by management.

We’re seeking a caring and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our providers and ensure a smooth patient experience. In this role, you’ll take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, and help maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. You’ll be an essential part of our primary care team, working together to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care. This position will float between our two offices in Jamestown NY.

Job Title: Rooming Medical Assistant

Reports To: Site Manager

Supervises: N/A

Location: On site - Jamestown NY

Travel Required: Regularly floats between our two offices in Jamestown NY

Position Type: Full-time 38-40 hours per week, non-exempt

Pay Information: $16.50 - $21.50 per hour

SUMMARY:

The Rooming Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient care by using current standards for preventative measures and working within the scope of practice to obtain necessary medical data for patient’s visit.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

The physical requirements and working environment are typical of most medical office settings. Employees are frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, balance, hear, talk, reach, and use their hands. Employees may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (stepstool) and stretch. Physical effort requires some lifting usually not in excess of 25 pounds. The office work environment is indoors and free from dust, smoke, moisture, and excessive noise.
