Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) to deliver comprehensive nursing care across age groups using the nursing process and evidence-based standards.

You will collaborate with the care team to plan and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor patient responses, and educate patients and families to support safe and effective outcomes. A BSN is preferred, with residency opportunities for new grads.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• New-hire RNs must start a BSN program within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
• Current KY RN licensure or compact license to work in Kentucky.
• BLS certification; ACLS/PALS may be required for certain units.
• Two years hospital patient care experience preferred.
• Nurse Residency program for new graduates or ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient health status from admission to discharge.
• Independently administer medications and monitor effects per policies and licensure.
• Develop and adjust care plans with the multidisciplinary care team to meet patient goals.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and safety.
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance across the unit.
