Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program and licensed as an RN.
• One year of RN experience required.
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years from RN start date for entry-level associate degree RNs.
• One year of professional RN experience required.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required; EMR systems experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on-call.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements; BLS required; other state licensure or specialty certification as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient education, and transitions of care.
• Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts.
• Mentor and teach staff and participate on committees or projects.
• Delegate patient care according to skill level, patient acuity, and resource availability.
