Job summary

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Float Registered Dental Assistant to support multiple dentists in East Bakersfield. You will work under direct supervision, perform chairside duties, operate radiography equipment and ensure patient comfort throughout procedures.

Ideal candidates have a California RDA license, a sealant certificate, and proficiency in English/Spanish. This role includes patient reception duties and adherence to infection control standards in a busy clinic.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience preferred.
• Must possess California license for Registered Dental Assistant and sealant certificate.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist in chairside procedures under supervision.
• Draping, seating patients and preparing tray setups.
• Record treatments in patient chart and route slips.
• Operate dental radiography equipment.
• Apply topical agents and remove dressings.
• Support receptionist duties and answer phone when needed.
• Adhere to infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Follow HIPAA and radiology policies.

We're looking for someone to join our team as a Float Registered Dental Assistant who:

Under the Direct supervision of a dentist, which means supervision of dental procedures based on instructions given by a licensed dentist who must be physically present in the treatment facility during the performance of those procedures. The duty must be performed pursuant to the order, control and full professional responsibility of the supervising dentist. Such procedures must be checked and approved by the supervising dentist prior to dismissal of the patient from the office of said dentist.

Essential Functions

• Dental Assistant will be proficient in four handed dentistry.
• Assist the dentist in all aspects of chairside assisting. These duties include but not limited to:
• Draping and seating the patient in dental chair. Placing proper tray set up and developing room preparation. Will confirm all treatment is recorded in the chart and all the necessary information of the patient visit is indicated on route slips.
• Operate Dental radiography equipment
• Apply topical agents
• Remove dressings
• Must be an active and enthusiastic team member.
• Will fill in as Dental Receptionist to answer telephone calls, route and assist incoming patients and any other tasks as designated.
• Follows Infection Control policies
• Follows HIPPA Policies
• Follows Radiology Policies
• Follows sterilization protocols and consistently demonstrates adherence to the sterilization process.
• Perform other work-related duties as required.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications

• Two years’ experience is preferred
• MustpossessbothCalifornialicenseforRegisteredDentalAssistantandsealantcertificate.
• PreferablybilingualinEnglishandSpanish.
• Willingnesstoparticipateinexpandeddutyprogramassuchprogrambecomesoperational.
• Desiretoworkcloselywithpatientsandstaff.
• Graduationfromhighschool.
• Possession of State Radiological Certification
