Major Duties And Responsibilities
- General Diagnostic Duties 50%
- Maintains standards of professional care and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Implements policies and procedures of Raleigh Radiology.
- Performs ordered procedures in a safe, efficient, and professional manner to include all required protocols.
- Assesses patient’s condition (physical and psychosocial); prioritizes needs, sets goals, and responds appropriately to meet those needs, which includes discharge teaching.
- Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions to care rendered.
- Administers contrast to assigned patients.
- Assists with specific tests and procedures as needed.
- Participates in economical utilization of supplies.
- Assures that equipment is always maintained and available for use.
- Assists co-workers and physicians in giving care to patients.
- Establishes and maintains open communication.
- Utilizes teaching opportunities with patients and other significant individuals.
- Assists with / or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse occurrences in patients.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients and staff.
- Cooperates with other staff members both inside and outside the department, serving as a team player and role model, exhibiting courtesy, caring, helpfulness, and respect.
- Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
- Patient Care Activities 35%
- Obtains initial history and assessment.
- Completes and documents history sheets.
- Engages with patients to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Performs assessments including vital signs, medical history, allergies, medications, and other pertinent information.
- Performs lab tests such as IStat Creatinine labs on applicable patients.
- Continuously assesses and monitors patients throughout the visit, including physical and psychological states.
- Documents assessments, changes, and patient education in the appropriate systems.
- Relays reports immediately after procedures when instructed.
- Communicates with team members to ensure continuous quality patient care.
- Safety/Infection Control 10%
- Follows safety and infection control policies and reports unsafe conditions.
- Ensures equipment is safe and functional.
- Uses protective gear as required.
- Other Duties 5%
- Provides age-specific care, maintains confidentiality, and performs additional tasks like scheduling and registration as needed.
Requirements
III. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent experience with ARRT registration.
- Previous experience in a busy office or hospital preferred.
- AHA BLS certification required or obtained within first 90 days of employment; ongoing certification required.
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist with ARRT (RT(R)), and MRI registration (RT(R)(MR)) preferred upon hire.

IV. Desired Skills
Basic patient care skills, including first aid and BLS. Excellent technical skills in MR, ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and follow directions. Flexibility, dependability, and professionalism are essential.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read printed material without strain, hear conversational voice, may be exposed to infections, and perform prolonged standing or walking. Ability to lift and move patients and supplies. Subject to rotating shifts and holidays.
