Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Float Pool Nurse to deliver comprehensive, safe, and evidence-based nursing care to acutely ill adults and their families, guiding care plans and ensuring timely interventions.

You will assess needs, organize care, advocate for patients with a holistic approach, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with social work, care coordination, PT/OT, lab, and imaging to support recovery.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure in AZ required.
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience required.
  • American Heart Association Certifications (BLS and ACLS) required.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and evidence-based nursing care for acutely ill adults.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates nursing care plans with leadership.
  • Organzes and prioritizes patient care activities and advocates for patients holistically.
  • Administers medications, changes dressings, monitors vitals, and documents promptly.
  • Collaborates with social work, care coordination, PT/OT, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging.

Education

Associate of Nursing (ADN)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Registered Nurse License - Arizona
American Heart Association Certifications (BLS/ACLS)

Job Summary And Responsibilities


As our Float Pool Nurse, you will help acutely ill adult patients and their families receive comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care, regardless of age, functional status, or developmental level so they can achieve desired health outcomes and recover in a supportive environment.


Every day you will assess patient and family problems and resources, taking a leadership role in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans and interventions. You will be expected to organize and prioritize patient care activities, advocate for patient needs with a holistic approach, and demonstrate accountability for ethical behavior and decision-making.


To be successful in this role, you must excel at providing comprehensive, safe, and effective nursing care, adept at organizing and prioritizing patient needs. You should be a strong advocate for patients, demonstrating ethical behavior, sound decision-making, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions.



  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.

  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.

  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation

  • Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging


Job Requirements

Required


  • Associate of Nursing, Bachelors of Nursing or foreign equivalent

  • Two (2) years of nursing experience

  • Registered Nurse in the state of Arizona

  • American Heart Association Certifications


    • Basic Life Support Card (AHA BLS)

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card (AHA ACLS)



Preferred


  • Nursing experience is recent (within the last year) and in Med/Surg/Tele

Pay Range

$32.50 - $58.90 /hour
