Job summary

Medical City McKinney is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse for full-time day shifts (7am-7pm) with rotating weekends. You will provide direct patient care, perform nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements include RN licensure, an Associate Degree (Bachelor's preferred within 2 years), Basic Life Support, and 1+ years PCU experience.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days of start)
• RN Registered Nurse credentialed
• Associate degree in nursing or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree to be obtained within 2 years of start date
• 1+ years PCU experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within RN scope
• Interpret health data and plan care with interdisciplinary team
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and craft care plans
• Implement nursing care per scope and laws
• Educate patients and families to promote health
• Manage care for multiple patients and coordinate with team
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions and adjust plans
• Use critical thinking to analyze data and literature for decisions

Full-time Rate: $45.50/hr

Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process/outcomes of a variety of medical/surgical patients.

Provider of Care:

• Determine the predictable health status and health needs of patients (individual and family) through interpretation of health data and preventive practice in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare team members

• Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient

• Formulate a nursing care plan based on determination of nursing diagnoses and identified problems

• Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice, including compliance with other laws that apply to the practice setting

• Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning promotion, maintenance and restoration of health

• Provide education, emotional support and age specific care to foster a partnership with the patient and significant others

• Provide for the care of multiple patients (individual and family) either through direct care or assignment and/or delegation of care to other members of the healthcare team

• Evaluate the patient’s (individual and family) responses and outcomes to therapeutic interventions

• Use critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data and current literature as a basis for decision making in nursing practice

What qualifications you will need:
