Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Preop, PACU, or ICU, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license or appropriate compact licensure required.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Float Pool PreOp PACU Nurse, you will contribute to our mission by planning, executing, and evaluating nursing care preoperatively and postoperatively until discharge.

What you will do in this role:

• Rotate to other ambulatory surgery centers
• Prepare patient care areas and ensure equipment availability
• Initiate IV therapy using aseptic technique
• Label medications appropriately
• Administer pre-op medications safely
• Monitor patients until transfer to OR
• Recognize and report signs of complications
• Maintain IV intake/output and document assessments
• Check dressings and operative sites for abnormalities
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications:

• Nursing Diploma
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Preop, PACU, or ICU, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
• Additional specialty experience may be required
• Active RN license or appropriate compact licensure
• Valid BCLS & ACLS certifications (online not acceptable)
• PALS certification within 90 days or sooner as per department
