Job summary

Corewell Health’s Royal Oak Hospital seeks a dedicated float pool Nursing Assistant to support 36 inpatient units. You will assist with patient care under RN supervision, transport patients, and provide observation services when needed.

Experience in hospital settings and current CNA/BLS credentials are preferred. This on-site role features a night shift with full-time hours and a commitment to safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support required.
• Current CNA certification preferred.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for patients requiring constant observation, in person or via remote video monitoring.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Education

BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

CNA certification (preferred)

We are a float pool, and our goal is to provide flexible staffing. We provide broad exposure to different patient populations as we support all 36+ inpatient nursing units including adults, pediatrics, and women’s health. Culturally, we are a very close-knit group despite our size. We pride ourselves in getting to know each team member individually and we try to personally acknowledge/support individuals on our team.

Scope of work

Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
