Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, CA, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patients, staff and physicians and maintain high-quality patient care.

Requires completion of a Medical Assistant program and BLS certification; CMA and HM are preferred. One year MA experience is preferred. Shift details include variable start/end times and 8/40 hours; weekend and on-call requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Certification of completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• 1 year MA experience in related clinical area (preferred).
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (preferred).
• Hospital Corpsman (HM) – US Navy (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists patients, staff and physicians to maintain efficient operations and customer service while providing quality care.
• Provide quality care to a designated patient population.
• Administers medications safely and accurately per guidelines and written order; verifies with two patient identifiers.
• Documents patient care per protocol and assists in scheduling patient appointments as needed.
• Participates in department activities to meet staffing needs and support front desk responsibilities.
