Job summary

Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Float/Flex Team. You will deliver high-quality, compassionate care, perform skilled nursing procedures, and develop individualized care plans within a dynamic hospital setting.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes, conduct thorough assessments, and respond effectively to changing patient needs.

Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing required at hire.
Registered Nurse license in Tennessee at hire.
Basic Life Support (CPR) required at hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor conditions.
Administer medications and therapies per patient rights and safety policies.
Recognize and respond to acute changes; escalate as needed.
Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and implement care.
Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and safe healing environment.

Diagnostic and patient monitoring (detection and recognition of acute changes and escalation or concerns/critical results).
Administration and monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens (starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown and following policies in relation to safety measures).
Effective management of rapidly changing situations (identifying, assessing and anticipating needs).
Organization and work rule competencies (prioritizing, coordination and meeting multiple patient needs in a timely manner).
Helping Role (consistently contribute to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate and building and maintaining a therapeutic environment.
