Job summary

AdventHealth in Dade City, FL seeks a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant to join our day shift team. You will perform treatments, assist in patient care under RN supervision, and help maintain a clean, safe environment in an acute care setting.

Requirements include a high school graduate, BLS certification, and CNA or equivalent credentials; prior bedside care in an acute unit is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• 1+ applicable PCT experience preferred; bedside patient care in an acute care unit or equivalent medical experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; CNA or equivalent certification required (or listed alternatives).

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows isolation guidelines and uses protective equipment.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents procedures in accordance with department policy.

• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.

• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
