- Float to Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, and Banner North Colorado Medical Center - Loveland Campus
- Provide routine patient care to promote patient comfort and support the overall patient care plan
- Assist with activities of daily living, hygiene, mobility, and nutritional intake
- Collect and document vital signs, input/output, specimens, and other delegated measurements
- Recognize and report patient health-status changes and treatment responses to licensed professionals
- Perform delegated procedures such as blood draws, Foley catheter removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring
- Provide supplies, support, and assistance for unit-specific procedures
- Perform receptionist and clerical duties and support communication and problem resolution
- Maintain patient records, admission/transfer/discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms
- Scan or file chart forms and assist with specimen ordering and electronic medical-record physician orders
- Maintain and reconcile office, dietary, and medical supplies
- Monitor and track electronic equipment
- Transport patients, including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients, as assigned
- Participate in operating-room turnover as assigned
- Interact with patients, families, physicians, and staff in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Current BLS certification required
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice required for new hires and transfers
- Skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective human relations and communication skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer literacy and keyboarding skills
- Depending on department assignment, minimum passing score of 85% on ECG or EEG test with accurate identification of all lethal cardiac dysrhythmias and epileptiform activity
- Successful completion of an approved basic electrocardiogram interpretation course, electroencephalographic interpretation course, or on-the-job training, depending on assignment
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit required only for specified Arizona behavioral health/home care assignments
- Recent healthcare experience preferred
- Successful completion of an approved unit secretary program preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
