CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patient Treatment
- Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnosis
- Consult with or refer patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise
- Diagnose and/or treat acute, chronic, and complex healthcare problems such as:
- Illness, infections
- High blood pressure, diabetes, influenza, and pneumonia
- Headaches, urinary tract and upper respiratory infections, hypertension, and dermatological conditions (referring when necessary)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Degree (MD/DO)
- 2 years of clinical medical practice in primary care preferred
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration in states where PCS does business
- Multiple active licenses to practice in states where PCS does business
- Maintain credentials in states where PCS does business
- Board Certification required in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Obtained through the American Heart Association (Renewal required every two years)
- State Controlled Substance License – As needed, per state requirements
- Obtain and maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
- Enroll in Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS).
This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management. Must be able to pass a federal background check.
