Qualifications

• 2–4 years healthcare/phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Proficiency in venipuncture with straight and butterfly needles.
• Experience handling laboratory specimens.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Phlebotomy certification if required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens.
• Verify patient information and match specimens with requisitions.
• Explain specimen collection procedures to patients professionally.
• Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling and transport.
• Update patient information and document specimen collection accurately.
• Perform equipment maintenance and decontamination as required.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and laboratory safety regulations.
• Answer phone calls and assist with laboratory inquiries.
• Participate in departmental training and maintain quality standards.
