Job summary

LabCorp in Oklahoma City, OK seeks a Float Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, collect specimens and provide exceptional patient care across sites. You will travel to multiple labs within the region, cover schedules from 7:00am to 7:00pm, and may work overtime or weekends as needed.

The role offers a quarterly incentive program, mileage reimbursement and a comprehensive benefits package. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years phlebotomy in a clinical setting.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training preferred.
• Experience with diverse patient ages (pediatric to geriatric).

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Collect specimens for various tests and drugs screens.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to additional sites; reliable transportation required.

LabCorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in the Oklahoma City, OK area (73110)

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday hours will vary based on coverage needs between 7:00am to 7:00pm (overtime and rotating weekends may be required as needed)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed, Reliable transportation required

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years’ phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
• 1 or more years’ experience assisting all patient age groups (pediatric - geriatric)
• Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Will primarily cover sites in Oklahoma City, OK city region. On occasion may be requested to cover sites in rural OK (up to approximately 100 + miles)
• Ability to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Be 21 years of age or older
• Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Float Incentive:

Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
