Job summary

Cub in Minnesota is seeking a Float Pharmacist to support multiple pharmacy locations across the East Twin Cities metro area. This role requires travel within the region and delivering prompt, accurate prescription dispensing with patient consultations.

You will supervise technicians and interns, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and participate in clinical programs while maintaining records and providing exceptional service.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) and active state license.
  • Certified Immunizer status required.
  • Completion of continuing education as required by state, federal, and company training programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately in compliance with all laws, regulations, physician orders, and company policies.
  • Count, pour, or measure the required quantity according to established methods.
  • Provide professional consultation in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Support and participate in clinical program offerings.
  • Respond to telephone requests from customers, physicians, and vendors requiring pharmacist expertise.
  • Communicate professionally with peers, managers, physicians, and customers in pharmacy-related areas.
  • Maintain all state and federal record keeping for controlled substances.
  • Access patient records via the pharmacy computer and verify third-party plan parameters.
  • Comply with procedures for hazardous drugs handling and dispensing.

Overview

Float Pharmacist in the East Twin Cities metro area. This role requires travel to multiple pharmacy locations. You will provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while ensuring safe and accurate prescription dispensing. You will manage pharmacy operations during assigned shifts, provide patient consultation, and oversee pharmacy technicians, graduate interns, and clerks in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Take all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with all laws, regulations, physician orders, and company policies and procedures regarding the sale of pharmaceuticals.
  • Count, pour, or measure the required quantity according to established company methods and procedures.
  • Offer advice and professional consultation in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Actively endorse and participate in all clinical program offerings.
  • Respond to telephone requests from customers, physicians, and vendors requiring pharmacist expertise.
  • Communicate and cooperate in a professional manner with peers, subordinates, managers, physicians, and customers in all pharmacy-related areas.
  • Maintain all state and federal record keeping for controlled substances.
  • Access the pharmacy computer to obtain complete patient records (for cash and third-party prescriptions) and verify third-party plan parameters.
  • Comply with standard operating procedures in handling and dispensing hazardous drugs.
Qualifications
  • Must have a college degree in Pharmacy (BS or PharmD) and hold a valid state license.
  • Meets all requirements of and maintains status as a Certified Immunizer.
  • Must complete continuing education hours as required by state, federal, and company training programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physical Requirements
  • Visual requirements include clear vision at distances greater than 20 inches and less than 20 feet, with color vision, depth perception, and field of vision adequate for work.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods; stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required to perform duties.
  • Position may require periodic travel throughout the assigned area by car.
  • Good judgment is required as there may be times when direct supervision is not immediately available.
