Float Pharmacist
Float / Senior Float / Lead Float Levels — Valley Vital Care Infusion Services
Location: Central & Southern Virginia | Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt | Reports To: Director of Pharmacy
Valley Vital Care is building an internal team of flexible, clinically excellent pharmacists who keep our growing network of infusion pharmacy sites safely staffed, no matter what comes up. As a Float Pharmacist, you'll step into sites across our regional footprint for planned and unplanned absences, demand surges, seasonal peaks, and new site activations, carrying the same high practice standard everywhere you go.
This role is built for an adaptable, relationship-driven clinician who\'s energized by variety: new sites, new teams, and the satisfaction of being the dependable answer when a site needs one. It\'s a hands-on staff pharmacist position, not a supervisory one — you\'ll support each site\'s leadership rather than manage it.
We hire at the level that matches your experience, and we\'ll tell you which one fits during the interview process.
Float Pharmacist — Core Coverage The entry point for the role. 2–4 years of pharmacist practice; credentialed across a subset of sites and core therapy lines; building breadth across the network.
Senior Float Pharmacist — Full Network 4–7 years of practice; credentialed across all active sites and the full therapy mix; comfortable with short-notice deployment and the most complex coverage; mentors newer floats.
Lead Float Pharmacist — Coverage Lead 7+ years of practice with PIC-eligible credentials; coordinates the float schedule, mentors the float pool, and can serve as interim Pharmacist in Charge for short-notice gaps.
Preferred: PharmD; multi-site, float, relief, or PRN experience; biologic and specialty infusion exposure across multiple therapy lines; comfort working across multiple pharmacy information systems.
This is a staff pharmacist role, not a Pharmacist in Charge or Director position. Float Pharmacists support site leadership rather than supervise it
