GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will undergo a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion, candidates will receive certification to demonstrate their skills for the Retail Personal Banker role. The Personal Banker I position focuses on using the consultative sales process to identify and meet customers' financial needs, aiming to acquire new households and deepen existing relationships through activities like lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. This role involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

Responsible for risk management by following policies, elevating concerns, and acting ethically to ensure a positive customer experience. The role requires identifying, assessing, and managing risks within the bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to understand customer profiles and financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of retail products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  3. Use marketing tools to proactively contact customers and schedule financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities.
  5. Build relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
  6. Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  8. Ensure customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  9. Respond confidently to customer questions and resolve issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and act ethically at all times.
  11. Follow policies while opening and servicing retail products.
  12. Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  13. Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  14. Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and mitigate risks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in finance preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities.
  • Understanding of advanced math for financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail policies and good judgment.
  • Must be registered with S.A.F.E. Act via NMLS at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended screen viewing.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Participation in external training sessions may be required.
