Job summary

American Medical Response is seeking a Float Paramedic to deliver advanced patient care across multiple Kansas and Missouri locations. This full-time role offers a competitive salary and the chance to work with an experienced EMS team.

You will lead on-scene operations, operate defibrillator and monitoring equipment, drive the ambulance on 911 responses, and coordinate care with allied professionals. Shift flexibility and commitment to compassionate service are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Kansas and Missouri Paramedic certifications.
  • State Driver’s License.
  • BLS and ACLS required upon hire. PALS is preferred, but not required.
  • Driving record compliant with company policy.
  • Pass Physical Agility Test.
  • Some work experience, preferably healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
  • Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.

We’re hiring Float Paramedics who are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care to our customers.

Float Paramedics may work shifts in Kansas City, KS, Pleasanton/Linn County, KS, and Cass County/Harrisonville, MO.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
