Job summary

MACT Health Board, Inc. seeks a dedicated Float Optician/Optometric Technician for its optometry clinic system. This full-time role supports providers in delivering patient care, handling front and back office duties, and ensuring smooth clinic operations across multiple MACT locations.

You will escort patients, assist in frame selection, manage inventory and registrations, and travel between clinics to cover shortages. HIPAA compliance and high school completion are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Optical Laboratory Technician Certificate preferred.
• Experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Must pass Occupational Health Screening.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients and record vital signs.
• Clean and prepare exam rooms.
• Maintain equipment and infection control standards.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and preparing optical lab orders.
• Perform administrative tasks including inventory, insurance processing, and recordkeeping.
• Support reception duties such as patient registration and appointment scheduling.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and emergency supply checks.
• Travel between Optometry clinics in the event of staff shortage.
• Train new staff and comply with all MACT policies.
