Job summary

Cowlitz Family Health Center in Washington state is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians during examinations and treatments. You will prepare patients, record vitals, assist with injections, and help with minor procedures in a welcoming clinic setting.

The ideal candidate holds WA Medical Assistant certification, BLS/CPR, and 1–4 years of relevant experience, with strong communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and the clinic offers competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid unrestricted WA State Medical Assistant Certification.
• BLS/CPR certification required upon hire.
• High school diploma plus successful completion of a minimum of one academic year of post-secondary education in a medical assisting program from an accredited educational institution.
• Associates degree in medical assisting and/or CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment of patients under supervision of a medical provider.
• Administer injections and prepare patients for procedures.
• Room patients, take vitals, and record chief complaints.
• Assist with minor surgeries/procedures as directed by a medical provider.

Cowlitz Family Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to be the heartbeat of our healthcare team! In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside compassionate professionals, provide essential support, and help create a welcoming environment for our patients.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a medical provider. Assists Physician/ARNP or RN with direct patient care. Under direction and supervision by medical professional staff: administer injections, room patients, take vitals, record chief complaints, and assist with minor surgeries/procedures with a medical provider. The Medical Assistant interacts regularly with patients, coworkers, and various other people on a day-to-day basis within the medical clinic and displays a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Wage Range

$23.00 - $24.77 Per Hour.

Schedule

Shifts are variable between Monday - Friday.

Requirements

Desired Education, Experience & Skills

• Demonstrated ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Must be a confident, self-directed individual who can work within a team as well as independently.
• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, utilizing concise and comprehensive documentation with strong technical writing and record-keeping skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
