Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Float Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering clinical and administrative tasks in the Zephyrhills area offices as needed. The role requires assisting with exams, taking and developing x-rays, charting, stocking rooms, and maintaining clean, sterile environments.

Ideal candidates have MA experience, podiatry/orthopedic exposure, and X-ray or EMR familiarity (Athenahealth preferred).

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant; MA Certification is a plus
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
• X-ray experience is a plus
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Previous experience working in an EMR – preferably athenahealth EMR
• Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills
• Empathetic and professional demeanor with each interaction
• Stable work history and reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician
• Complete exam intake, including medical and social histories
• Ensure accurate charting for the physician
• Provide patient care under a podiatric physician, including taking and developing x-rays
• Assist in exam room and stock exam rooms daily
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient
• Meet quality measures and audits as required
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support
• Connect patients to extended care team as needed
