Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Pulaski is seeking a Float Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the First Choice Health Clinic (Primary Care/Walk-In). This PRN position requires flexibility across clinic needs and daytime schedules.

You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with care plans, and support daily living activities for patients in a fast-paced primary care setting.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee license (single-state or compact) required.
• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• LPN license for the State of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Performs plan of care interventions including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medications.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors and communicates patient status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and procedures.

At the Pulaski First Choice Health Clinic, we are seeking an experienced nurse who is committed to providing high quality care to our patients. We offer a supportive environment with hands on experience, and prioritize keeping a good culture throughout the clinic.

How you'll contribute

A Clinic LPN who excels in this role:

• As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an Active Tennessee license (single-state or compact) and be a graduate of a Practical Nursing program. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Licenses: LPN license for the State of Tennessee.
• Education: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
