Job summary

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is seeking a Float Advanced Practice Nurse (NP/CNM) for the Denver metro area. The role combines clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up to support abortion care in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires an active NP or CNM license, 2+ years in women's health, and prescriptive authority; includes paid training, travel to Denver for onboarding, and comprehensive benefits. Flexible schedules and travel opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of advanced practice clinical experience in women’s health and/or reproductive medicine.
  • Active NP or CNM license in CO or NM.
  • Meets state licensing requirements and holds an active state license with prescriptive authority (full prescriptive authority required in Colorado).
  • Holds or is willing to obtain DEA certification.
  • Eligible for credentialing with Medicaid and other payors.
  • Completes in‑house ultrasound training within 1 year if practicing.
  • Must be BLS Certified

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive physical exams with a focus on reproductive health for all genders.
  • Comprehensive onboarding program including in-house training on first trimester ultrasound and gender affirming care.
  • Perform cancer screenings, diagnose/treat STIs, and complete advanced clinical procedures.
  • Deliver contraceptive counseling, education, and method provision.
  • Participate in abortion care through counseling, referrals, scheduling, and/or direct provision.
  • Provide patient‑centered, trauma‑informed care, including medication abortion and gender‑affirming care, following all laws and PPRM Medical Standards & Guidelines.
  • Partner with patients, care teams, and community agencies to support holistic care.
  • Advance access to reproductive healthcare while achieving quality and performance goals as a clinical leader.

Abortion Care: At PPRM, we all work in abortion care. This role supports abortion care through direct clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up, ensuring timely and empathetic support to those navigating abortion services.

Union: This role is represented by SEIU, Local 105 and is governed by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement.

Training:Includes paid training sessions, ongoing development, and a structured onboarding plan. Initial travel to Denver for 2-4 weeks during the first 1 to 2 months of employment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide comprehensive physical exams with a focus on reproductive health for all genders.

Pay Range: $51.23–$67.16/hour (includes $2/hour travel differential)

Additional Pay Incentives:

  • +$2.25/hour for Spanish fluency (upon passing test)
  • +$60/night for overnight assignments and $30/day for travel greater than 75 miles for non-overnight travel.
  • Paid mileage reimbursement for work-related travel in accordance with the current federal mileage rate.

Schedule: Flexible schedules are available to be discussed at the time of interview to potentially include float and primary assignment shifts. Ideal candidates can work on a flexible schedule to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed to meet business demands.

Travel Details: Preferred candidate to live in the Colorado Denver metro area.
