Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Flight Test Technician 2/3 to join the Specialty Test Team in Palmdale, CA. The role supports mechanical and electromechanical testing, fabrication, and sub-assembly work under engineers and vehicle managers.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with related flight test experience and must be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance. Relocation assistance may be available, and some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of related experience.
• Experience in flight test, metal work, welding, structures, hydraulic parts, assemblies or related manufacturing electrical/systems.
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical work including lifting up to 25 pounds and working in confined spaces.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance or higher with background check within last 6 years or Continuous Evaluation in progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, fabrication and assembly of mechanical and electromechanical components and test stands.
• Devise, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.
• Load train assemblies and test devices to measure push/pull force and stress.
• Document test methodology and participate in sub-system development.
• Perform testing under supervision and follow safety directives.
