Position: A&P Certified Flight Test Technician (Level 3/4). Location: Palmdale, CA or Edwards AFB, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform developmental, experimental, and production aircraft maintenance and engineering support, including repair, modification, installation, testing, checkout, fabrication, and assembly of electrical/electronic, mechanical, instrumentation, and electro‑mechanical systems.
- Instruct, coordinate, and perform flight test duties; determine the sequence for installing, removing, maintaining, repairing, or fabricating critical aircraft components and systems.
- Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain complex aircraft equipment, components, devices, and systems; conduct operational and environmental tests and engineering tests while collecting data.
- Work from incomplete engineering data, blueprints, drawings, schematics, orders, and manuals; perform drilling, reaming, fitting, assembly, trimming, riveting, splicing, insulating, and related duties.
- Notify lead personnel of malfunctions, defects, and damage; check work for completeness; perform production accountability duties including processing, verification, quality auditing, and inspection of delegated assemblies, parts, and tooling.
Excludes trainees with no academic preparation or experience.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4 years of related professional/military experience for Level3; 6 years for Level4.
- A&P Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (or enrolled in continuous evaluation).
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance by business needs; upgrade to SAP/PAR after selection.
- Experience working in a production or test environment.
- Familiarity with systems test.
- Lift up to 30lbs; work from elevated platforms; perform moderate strenuous physical tasks (lifting up to 40lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, overhead work).
- Access small confined spaces and work in enclosed environment.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Top Secret or higher clearance.
- Current SAP clearance.
- Good soldering and crimp skills; fabricate cables and harnesses from engineering drawings and parts lists.
- Solder & crimp certifications.
- Experience testing & troubleshooting with data interfaces (Ethernet, 1553, ARINC, RS‑488, 232, etc.).
- Proficiency with hand tools and small power tools.
Benefits & Compensation
Primary Level Salary: $66,600.00 – $111,000.00.
Secondary Level Salary: $79,100.00 – $131,900.00.

Full‑time, on‑site. No remote/hybrid/telework.
