Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Range Operations Officer to support daily range readiness, safety, and sustainment for flight-test activities. You will inspect, configure, and close ranges, verify NOTAMs, weather, and access controls, and coordinate with Airport Operations, Flight Test, Maintenance, Engineering, and vendors at the Newton range.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in aviation operations, airport operations, flight test, UAS operations, or military range operations.
• Working knowledge of aviation safety, weather, NOTAM coordination, and operational documentation.
• Ability to work independently and maintain disciplined records in high-tempo environments.
• Willingness to work nonstandard hours and outdoor environments around aircraft.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate site vehicles after training.
• Ability to obtain airport access credentials and pass security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Open, inspect, configure, and close the range for scheduled test activity.
• Verify NOTAMs, weather, site access, and safety equipment before testing.
• Coordinate daily requirements with operations, maintenance, engineering, and vendors.
• Maintain NOTAM tracker and alert managers of upcoming or expired NOTAMs.
• Maintain range equipment, fuels, and ground-support assets; arrange replenishment as needed.
• Support test-day briefs and maintain range maps and contact lists.
