Flight Test Pilot - Rotorcraft (Finance)



Overview

We are seeking a full-time Flight Test Pilot in our Salem, OR location. You will perform flight test activities including developing test plans, serving as Pilot in Command, operating data collection systems, and understanding certification processes. This position requires at least 1500 rotorcraft flight hours and an engineering degree.


Essential Functions
  • Act as Pilot in Command for experimental aircraft with minor modifications and conduct low-risk flight tests.
  • Lead simple flight test projects as Project Lead.
  • Draft test plans and reports based on previous programs.
  • Contribute to system design by understanding operational characteristics.
  • Maintain test aircraft configurations and coordinate with engineering teams.
  • Operate data collection systems and analyze flight test data.
  • Address aircraft issues, troubleshoot, and coordinate with maintenance.
  • Contribute to flight manuals and technical publications.
  • Identify and verify resolution of issues during flight tests.
  • Review certification plans with understanding of certification regulations.
  • Suggest process and safety improvements.
  • Develop solutions using sound problem-solving skills, maintaining focus and urgency.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering with 1+ year relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate (Rotorcraft).
  • 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum 1500 total flight hours.
  • Understanding of certification processes and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug moderately complex issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • Helicopter pilot qualifications.
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Experience with general aviation products.
  • Understanding of system safety analysis.
  • Experience in systems engineering or software development.
