Joby Aviation seeks an instrumentation engineer to develop, maintain, and improve data acquisition hardware, real-time visualization software, and installation processes for flight test instrumentation on Joby’s VTOL aircraft. You will join a fast-paced, hands-on team applying LabVIEW, Diadem, MATLAB, and Python to deliver robust data pipelines and calibration traceability.

Competenze

• B.S. in Engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent work experience and training
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Mechanical design and manufacturing experience
• Experience with data acquisition hardware as well as sensors such as foil strain gauges, accelerometers, load cells, thermocouple, encoders, etc. (including sensor installation)
• Fluent using LabVIEW for data collection, real time data analytics, and developing GUIs
• Experience using Diadem, MATLAB, Python or another scripting language for data post processing
• Experience with digital signal processing and wireless data transmission
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Hands-on attitude with strong analytical background
• MS/PhD or 5+ years of experience
• Experience with the CATIA tool
• Experience working with flight test organizations and aircraft certification

Overview

Joby is seeking an instrumentation engineer to help develop, improve, and maintain the data acquisition hardware, real time visualization software, and processes for the installation and maintenance of flight test instrumentation for Joby’s VTOL electric aircraft. Additional Information

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $97,600 - $167,100/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Joby also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with a company match, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and more.
