This position coordinates flight test activities among multiple engineering disciplines in support of a wide range of F-16 related test programs. The individual should possess the ability to understand air vehicle system architecture, design and subsystems integration and mission systems avionics. The individual should have the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers at varying levels of experience.
The selected candidate should have 2 - 15 years of direct hands-on flight test experience (salary will be competitive, based on experience) in following phases of test planning preparation, execution and reporting:
• Maturity and professionalism to support the execution of a flight test missions, briefings and oversee team of discipline engineers in Mission Control Room.
• During flights, monitor performance parameters of experimental and operational systems.
• Participate in development of the overall plans such as Test Plans, Test Points, test cards, etc.
• Provide integrated engineering support for design reviews, test planning working groups, test card prep, execution, and post flight reports.
• Participated in and supports test program for design reviews, schedule meeting, liaison with test ranges, etc.
• Performing mechanical/electrical review of aircraft systems, sub-systems, and components to ensure proper test plans and data collection in flight test.
• Work well in a team environment as well as independently.
• Generate post flight mission reports and other detailed formal reports.
The individual should possess a track record of direct hands-on experience in all phases of planning, executing and managing flight tests and a reputation of being a team player and passion for flight test.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct hands-on flight test experience required. Additional education may be considered as work experience.
• Previous experience in flight testing fighter aircraft preferred.
• Test Pilot Graduate a plus but not required for this mid-level FTE position.
• Previous experience in Aero-Performance / Flight Envelope Expansion, Vehicle Subsystems performance and Mission Systems is desired.
• Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers’ requirements and need.
• Experience in Electronic Warfare and RF/IR CM desired.
• Previous experience as aircrew member (Pilot, EWO, NAV, etc.) desired.
• Experience with flight test of avionics systems, weapons, live fires, and sensor testing is a plus.
• Private Pilot license is a plus but not required.
Travel:
Travel is required, estimated at 10%.
Education Requirements:
BS in technical field or equivalent with number of years of experience determining level of position filled.
Clearance Requirements:
Current Active Secret clearance or Top Secret clearance (desired). Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required
The pay range for this position in California is $100,000/year to $180,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
