Job summary

Sierra Space in Louisville, CO is seeking a Manager of Flight Support Equipment to lead the design, development, testing, and lifecycle management of ground support equipment and tooling.

You will manage a team of about 8 engineers, coordinate with cross-functional groups, oversee procurement, validation, and compliance with OSHA, FAA, and AS9100 standards. This role demands strong leadership and strategic execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 6+ years of experience.
• Proven track record in equipment design, development, testing, and project management.
• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in CAD and engineering analysis tools.
• Ability to lead multi-functional teams and manage large projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and engineering analysis of MGSE and tooling.
• Oversee procurement, supplier management, and bid evaluations.
• Direct testing, validation, and certification of equipment to ensure compliance.
• Manage lifecycle, upgrades, maintenance, and calibration of equipment.
• Budgeting, KPI tracking, and reporting to senior management.
• Ensure safety policies and industry standards (OSHA, FAA, AS9100) are met.
