Job summary

Terran Orbital Corporation in Irvine, CA is seeking an Associate Flight Software Test & Tools Engineer to join our Flight Software Engineering team. You will focus on test execution, development support for testing workflows, build tools, and automation infrastructure to validate satellite flight software.

This early-career role offers hands-on experience with test automation, embedded toolchains, and collaboration with hardware and firmware teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 0+ years of experience; internships or projects welcome
• Interest in testing C/C++ applications for embedded, high-performance, or safety-critical systems

Responsibilities

• Support creation and execution of test plans for evaluation of flight software
• Help develop automated flashing, deployment, and testing workflows for physical devices
• Document testing procedures, results, and repeatable workflows
• Create and track bug reports and release tickets with the development team
• Support the development of software verification artifacts and compliance documentation
• Collaborate with software, firmware, and FPGA engineers and coordinate release activities
• Assist in tracking performance metrics to improve test efficiency and reliability
• Learn and support installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of toolchains from various vendors
• Participate in automation of testing processes and improvement of test frameworks
• Help maintain and enhance software build pipelines (GitHub Actions, CI/CD)
• Incorporate DevSecOps principles into build/test systems to reduce risk
