Terran Orbital in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Flight Software Engineer to design, implement, and verify software that controls our satellites. You will work across requirements, architecture, and on‑orbit operations with hands‑on access to spacecraft hardware and simulation environments.

The role emphasizes embedded C++, real‑time constraints, and collaboration with GNC, avionics, and ground software teams. Eligible U.S. citizenship and security clearance are considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience developing C++ applications for embedded, real‑time, or safety‑critical systems.
• Strong understanding of memory management, concurrency, and real‑time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain flight software modules for guidance, navigation, control, payload, and comms.
• Develop software for imaging systems, sensors, and propulsion maneuvers with verifications.
• Write unit, integration, and regression tests using existing frameworks.
• Collaborate to define software requirements, architecture, and interfaces.
