Job summary

Jet Propulsion Laboratory seeks an experienced Flight Software Engineer IV to develop embedded flight software for CubeSats, small satellites and instrument payloads. You will lead a small team, define requirements, and manage software delivery across simulations and hardware integration.

Required: bachelors in CS/EE with 9+ years of related work, strong C/C++, Python, Linux and VxWorks background, plus leadership and communication skills. Pasadena-based role with mission-focused teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with extensive embedded software experience.
• Experience architecting, debugging and delivering real-time embedded software for aerospace.
• Proven leadership in software development teams and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver embedded flight software for spacecraft and payloads.
• Lead software teams, plan tasks, review designs and mentor junior engineers.
• Define requirements, perform testing, and coordinate with hardware and simulation teams.
