Textron Aviation Inc. is offering a 2027 Internship - Software Engineer - Avionics and Systems in Lutz, FL. This internship provides hands-on experience designing, developing, auditing, and documenting flight simulator software and related workflows with cross-functional teams.

Summer internships run 10 weeks, full-time, onsite, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to contribute to real projects impacting Textron’s avionics programs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and diplomatic demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and document flight simulator software
• Work closely with engineers of varying disciplines to meet project requirements
• Participate in engineering design reviews
• Perform hardware/software integration & testing on flight simulator training devices
• Provide engineering staff with recommendations for software/hardware enhancements
• Work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business
• Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
