Job summary

Katalyst is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop embedded flight software for space systems. You will own software from requirements through deployment, working on real-time control, telemetry, and interfaces with avionics, GNC, and ground software.

The role requires strong C/C++, RTOS/embedded Linux experience, and hands-on lab or hardware-in-the-loop work in a fast-paced space environment. Eligible for full-time, on-site work with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
3+ years of experience developing embedded or flight software for mission-critical systems.
Demonstrated ownership of embedded software from requirements through deployment and support.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ with real-time and embedded fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Develop and own embedded flight software from requirements to on-orbit operations.
Implement real-time software for payload control, telemetry, and interfaces.
Translate mission requirements into software interfaces and state machines.
Integrate software with avionics, GNC, and ground systems.
Build and maintain test capabilities and diagnose anomalies to drive root-cause closure.
Design for deterministic behavior and safe-state recovery in a mission-critical environment.
Own software quality through reviews, releases, and documentation.
