Job summary

Quantum Space in the United States is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software powering our Ranger spacecraft and payload systems. You will collaborate across avionics, software, and operations teams to implement flight behaviors, command sequences, and autonomous functions that enable mission success.

Ideal candidates have a BS in a related field and 3+ years in C++ and Python, Linux experience, and a track record of working with RTOS or

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with C++ or another object‑oriented programming language.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, testing, and automation.
• Strong experience in a Linux development environment (bash, networking, serial, debugging).
• Experience with Git and GitLab workflows; familiarity with Agile processes.
• Ability to rapidly understand, navigate, and contribute to a large, previously developed codebase.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for spacecraft and payload systems.
• Collaborate with avionics, payload, propulsion, and GNC leads to implement flight behaviors.
• Design scheduling logic, command sequences, and autonomous behaviors for on‑orbit operations.
• Support hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing, system integration, and verification of software.
• Document software interfaces and workflows for cross‑functional alignment.
