Job summary

EOI Space in Lafayette, CO is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement, and test flight software for our satellite platform. You will work at the boundary between hardware and software with engineers during board bring-up and validation.

This hands-on role requires strong C/C++, embedded Linux on Zynq, Verilog for FPGA, and TI C2000 firmware, with opportunities to own meaningful portions of the vehicle and contribute to on-orbit operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• 4–6 years embedded software/firmware experience.
• Strong C/C++ in RT, constrained environments.
• Comfort reading schematics/datasheets; use of JTAG and scopes.
• Experience with Zynq/Yocto, TI C2000 or Verilog FPGA development.
• Able to navigate ambiguity and learn quickly.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Authorized to work as a U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and test flight software and firmware for spacecraft.
• Collaborate across hardware and software teams; board bring-up and debugging.
• Develop embedded Linux on Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ platforms; Yocto layers and drivers.
• Develop bare-metal firmware for TI C2000 MCUs and Verilog FPGA logic.
• Bring up new hardware with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Improve tooling around flight software and CI systems.
• Documentation: ICDs, register maps, software designs and test plans.
• Support integration, environmental tests, and on-orbit operations.
