Apex Technology, Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a flight software engineer to design, develop and own software driving autonomous operation of our satellite buses.

You will work with internal teams and customers to deliver reliable mission-critical software 24/7. The role requires experience in real-time distributed systems, Python/C++, and embedded Linux, with a focus on practicality and scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of total flight software experience
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Rust and real-time distributed systems
• Experience with embedded Linux operating systems and Yocto development
• Familiarity with satellite protocols such as CCSDS/ECSS and secure communications

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and own mission critical software applications for satellite systems
• Support commissioning of spacecraft during launch and early operations and ensure software systems remain functional during critical operations
• Own spacecraft software solutions through the full lifecycle from initial design to deployment
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing of software components, identifying and resolving defects or issues
