Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Flight Simulation Technician Tech II to provide technical support and leadership for its Flight Simulation and Training Devices at the Daytona Beach campus. The role involves supervising part-time staff, mentoring technicians, and participating in the lifecycle of training resources including DIS network and S-QMS compliance.

The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree or 18+ months of post-high school study in avionics/engineering

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support Flight Simulation and Training Devices (FSTD), AATD, ITD, and XR inventory.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, training and tasking of part-time technical staff.
  • Participate in design, development, acquisition, relocation, installation, operation, and maintenance of training resources and the DIS network.
  • Contribute to upkeep and improvement of the FAA-approved S-QMS.

Job description

The Opportunity

The Flight Simulation Technician Tech II (Tech II) provides support services, technical expertise, and team skills necessary to maintain the high quality performance of the Flight Simulation and Training Device (FSTD), Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD), Immersive Training Device (ITD), and Extended Reality (XR) training and research inventory at the Daytona Beach campus. Provides supervision, mentoring, training, and tasking of part-time technical staff to maintain and assure fleet compliance with regulatory requirements and pilot training needs. Participates in the design/development, acquisition, relocation, installation, operation, and maintenance of training resources and the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) network, as well as the upkeep and improvement of the FAA approved Simulator-Quality Management System (S-QMS).

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

Associate's degree or completion of program of 18+ months after high school.
