As a flight safety engineer, your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and certify real-time embedded code to ensure software compliance with the aviation industry to support certification of modernized GPS user equipment that are critical to America’s warfighters, our allies, and civil users. You’ll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest software approaches, tools, and technologies. You Have:

Experience with development or evaluating aviation software

Experience with software or hardware reviews per Radio Technical Commission (RTCA) for Aeronautics

Experience with flight safety certification

Knowledge of Technical Standard Order (TSO) program authorization processes and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and guidance

Ability to be highly motivated, have a dynamic work ethic, and contribute to the DoD mission

Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients and contractor teammates

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science

Nice If You Have:

2+ years of experience with development or evaluating aviation software

2+ years of experience performing certification authority activities per the military standard order (MSO) or TSO certifications

Experience with certification activities per MSO-C145, MSO-C204, DO-229, DO-160

Experience with Space Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), GNSS Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), or (Global Positioning System (GPS) civil signals (L5, L2C, L1C) receivers

Experience with Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE)

Possession of excellent interpersonal skills

Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
