Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville seeks a Registered Nurse for the Neonatal Team. The RN identifies health alterations, assesses patient responses, and implements interventions to achieve optimal outcomes, coordinating with families and the care team while supervising LPNs and UAPs.

Requirements include Florida RN license, AMCCC/NRP within one year, and CFRN/CCRN/CEN within two years. BSN preferred; EMT-Paramedic and multiple certifications are expected. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Florida nursing license required to practice in the state of Florida.
• AMCCC and NRP certifications required within one year of employment.
• BSN preferred at time of hire; BSN required within three years for hires after 30 Apr 2014.
• CFRN, CCRN or CEN certification required within two years of hire; neonatal-related certs accepted.
• EMT-Paramedic certification is required for adult/pediatric positions in Florida.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC/PEPP or equivalent are required.
• ITLS/PHTLS or TNCC certification is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient health alterations and assess responses to health problems.
• Implement nursing interventions based on nursing theory to achieve outcomes.
• Supervise and delegate care to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines and services for optimal outcomes.
• Contribute to a positive work environment and uphold patient advocacy.
