Job summary

UCHealth Lifeline in Colorado Springs provides direct patient care during air and ground critical care transport. This on-site role supports the Lifeline Critical Care Transport team, with a flex shift and full-time schedule, ensuring rapid, high-quality care from scene to hospital.

Required: RN, Colorado license, CFRN, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, and 3 years ICU/ED or EMS-related experience. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and rapid decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years’ experience. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Colorado RN license at hire; Multi-state compact license within six months of hire. Flight Nurse Certification (CFRN). Valid driver’s license. BLS Healthcare Provider; ACLS, PALS, NRP; and TPATC/TNCC/ATCN or equivalent.
• Minimum Experience: 3 years ICU/ED experience. Preferred: Flight, CCT or EMS experience. Instructor certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TPATC or TNCC or ATCN).
• BLS/CPR through AHA or ARC; card valid through sixty days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care during all phases of the transport from initial contact until care is relinquished to appropriate team member at the accepting medical facility.
• Documents patient assessment, evaluation, interventions, patient response to therapy, changes in condition, and procedures within the established timeframe.
• Ensures equipment is in working order, notes discrepancies and coordinates resolution; completes all vehicle and equipment checklists.
• Collaborates across disciplines to drive success and improve outcomes; provides safety and clinical education to referring facilities and EMS agencies as needed.
• Within scope of job, demonstrates critical thinking, decisive judgement and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay:$38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
Provides direct patient care during air and ground critical care transport.

Responsibilities:

• Provides patient care during all phases of the transport from initial contact until care is relinquished to appropriate team member at the accepting medical facility.
• Documents patient assessment, evaluation, interventions, patient response to therapy, changes in condition, and procedures within the established timeframe. Participates in Pre and Post Transport briefings. Provides patient follow up to referral agencies.
• Ensures equipment is in working order, noting any discrepancies and ensuring steps toward resolution. Completes all required vehicle and equipment checklists.
• Collaborates across disciplines to drive success and improve outcomes. Provides safety and clinical education to referring facilities and EMS agencies as needed. Active participant in safety, education, quality, and outreach.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years’ experience. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Colorado OR Multi-state compact RN License at hire. Multi-state compact Nursing License within six (6) months of hire. Flight Nurse Certification (CFRN). Valid driver's license. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP); and any one of the following: Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC), or TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN). Tracked by department: Relevant license and certificates as determined at position level.
• Minimum Experience: 3 years ICU, Emergency department (or combination of both) experience. Preferred: Previous Flight, CCT or EMS experience. Instructor certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TPATC or TNCC or ATCN).
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
