Job summary

Global Medical Response is hiring a Registered Flight Respiratory Therapist to join our air transport team in the Birmingham area. You will assess and manage high-acuity patients during air medical transport, coordinating with flight crews and medical teams to ensure safe, effective care.

The role requires critical thinking, strong communication, and ongoing certification maintenance. Minimum 3 years of ER/ICU respiratory care experience, state licensure, RRT, and required BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be able to work under pressure in emergency flight scenarios.
• Ability to collaborate with air and ground teams, physicians, and regulatory staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess situations to determine best course of action for patient care in critical transport.
• Manage care for adult and pediatric patients per physician orders.
• Maintain safe, clean aircraft environment and perform equipment and base checks.
• Coordinate with flight crews, dispatch, facilities, and partners.
• Ensure accurate documentation and certifications; maintain ongoing training.
